Dear Mark & Sandra,

In the fifteen years I have been associated with coach tourism, I have made a practice of reflecting on a tour just completed & where a service provider shares our quest for excellence, provide an appraisal/critique. The following is just that. Where the tribute glows, accept it graciously for you have certainly earned it.

You have a U.S.P ....this is where Ray Station is a ‘Stand Alone’, you have what other farm/station stays Australia wide do not have – a connection with greatness & your pride in your forebears shows through.
That would be of little use if the Tully family members collectively did not communicate their love of the land, their heritage & genuine warmth for their guests.

You have grasped the opportunity at your disposal & created the atmosphere that our group enjoyed so much. The Tully-Durack 1874 theme is a winner. The homestead tour, Sarah Durack’s bed & its story, the fascinating museum with photos & memorabilia including Dame Mary’s notes for her novel, was one of many highlights. Add to that coach accessibility to interesting station locations - including the opal fields.

Congratulations also on the film night in ‘The Great Hall’ of the shearers’ quarters, showing old station footage complemented with Mark’s commentary. The campfire with yarns, poetry & song is a concept you must keep.

We are a regular visitor to the O.B.Q. region and you can be assured whenever the itinerary permits you have us for life!

Our two day stay with you (which seemed like two hours) carried the title of the outstanding highlight of the twenty one day adventure. In short & on behalf of the entire group…it was one helluva good time.

As your reputation grows, so does your contribution to tourism in your region.

Well done!

Dear Mark & Sandra,

Just a short note to thank you for the hospitality you showed to our recent senior group.

The feedback of letters & comments received by our passengers has been more than favourable. All saying that their two (2) nights, with you on Ray Station was the highlight of their ten (10) day tour. They all said, as I did the time I visited Ray, that they felt at home the minute they were met by Mark at the front gate. The way that you can include your past ancestry & present day running of Ray Station, taking them into your home & showing what life is really like on an outback station will remain etched in their minds forever.

I must make mention of your cooking as this was one thing highlighted in the comments I received. Everyone raved about the meals & how they enjoyed your home cooking. Particular mention was made about their sing-a-long & recital by the campfire followed the next day by a wonderful guided tour.

Well done Ray Station, your professionalism combined with true outback hospitality has won us over.
